How to Put Out Fire in Mika and the Witch's Mountain

Ah, the fire. It's the kind of problem where you think, "Surely this game will explain what to do next." Spoiler: it doesn’t. But that’s why I’m here.

Step 1: Finding the Sponge

The key to putting out the fire is a Sponge. No, it’s not just lying around where you'd expect it—like near water or, you know, in the burning plane’s vicinity. Instead, you’ll find it at the beach between Orilla Town and Allegra's Workshop. This spot is picturesque, sure, but it’s also suspiciously underused.

While you're there, multitask a bit:

  • Deliver Vanny's Flask to Vanny. She’ll reward your good deed with a violin for Kiala (because that’s logical).

  • Got the Mint Crystal? Hand it over to Brram while you're at it. He’ll be thrilled. Probably.

Once you’ve got the Sponge, it should look like… well, a sponge. If it doesn’t, you’re in the wrong spot.

Step 2: Soak the Sponge

A dry sponge is about as useful as a wet matchstick. Make sure the Sponge is soaked by finding water nearby (again, it’s a beach—options abound). When it's ready, the icon will change to a wet sponge. Congratulations, you now hold the most magical cleaning product in gaming history.

Step 3: Fly to the Plane

With your soggy treasure in hand, head to the plane. Fly over it while holding the Sponge. You’ll notice Mika getting bounced upward a few times during the process—like she’s in a trampoline park, but with fire hazards. Keep going until the flames are fully out. It might take a few passes, but persistence is key.

And That’s It

The fire’s out, and you’ve mastered the art of aerial spongeing. Who knew firefighting could be so whimsical? Now go forth and handle your other cryptic errands—you’ve got a mountain to conquer and witches to impress.
