Shrines look simple in IdleOn, but placing them for the first time can feel confusing. Here is the clean way to unlock the skill and drop your first shrine so you can finish Infrastructure Plan fast.
How to Place a Shrine
You place a shrine by using the Shrine Architect star talent, putting it on your bar, clicking it, then dragging a shrine onto the map. The quest will count each one as soon as you drop it in a valid location.
Getting the Shrine Skill Ready
You need a star talent before you can place anything. The game will not tell you this clearly, so here is the path. The Shrine Architect talent comes from a world 3 quest chain. You get it from the ice cream NPC after finishing the early tasks there. You unlock the talent book first, then the actual placing skill.
Use the talent book right away. Open your star talent menu and put 1 point into the new Shrine Architect talent. This gives you permission to summon shrines.
Putting Shrine Architect On Your Bar
Open your talents and press Assign Talent. Drag Shrine Architect into your action bar. It works like any other active skill. Click the new icon on your bar. If nothing happens, click it again. You should see your action bar switch into shrine mode.
Shrine mode shows every shrine you currently have unlocked. These appear as small icons in a row. Find the shrine you want to place.
Dropping the Shrine Into the World
Click the shrine icon, then drag it anywhere in the map. Release to place it. This counts for Infrastructure Plan right away. If it fails to drop, move slightly or try another tile. Some spots do not accept shrines.
Each shrine has its own XP bar. It levels up when your character AFKs in the zone. Moving a shrine resets its XP to zero, but it keeps all finished levels.
Using Shrines Later On
You eventually unlock upgrades that let you place shrines inside towns. Town shrines level up from any AFK time in that world. This makes shrine progress much faster. There are also higher tier perks that let you move shrines without losing all XP, plus a perk that makes shrine buffs active on all players across every world.
Shrines are one of the easiest passive boosts in the game once you place your first one. The hardest part is just unlocking the talent and dragging it onto the bar.
Final Blurb
Shrine placement looks strange at first because IdleOn hides the talent behind a world 3 quest chain, but once you unlock Shrine Architect the whole system becomes quick and simple. Drop your shrines, level them as you AFK, and enjoy steady buffs across your characters.
