Getting the right armor and weapons early on in KCD2 can make a big difference. Here's a simple guide on how to acquire some decent gear early in the game.
How to Get Early Armor and Weapons
Head to Trovit: After leaving Hans, you will find yourself in the first main town called Trovit. Here, you can find decent armor and weapons.
Approach the Guard: In Trovit, locate a guard leaning against a wall. You can either knock him out, kill him, or rob him. I recommend robbing or knocking him out to avoid getting too much attention.
Rob the Guard: To rob the guard, you’ll need to carefully pickpocket him. Hold the rob action button to gradually open the inventory, but make sure you don't take too long or the timer will run out. Look for keys, which will help you open chests later.
Get the Keys: Once you have the keys, move past the guard and head to the stables. Make sure to stay crouched as you're entering a restricted area.
Distract the Sleeping Guard: In the stables, there will be a guard sitting on a chair. Throw a stone near him to wake him up and another to send him away. Be careful of other guards in the area.
Unlock the Chest: With the keys, you can now unlock the chest inside the stables. This chest contains a good set of armor. Prioritize armor with the highest defense values.
Second Chest for Weapons: For weapons, head to the guardhouse at around 1:00 to 2:00 AM when the guards are sleeping. Move past the guards and go to the room where they’re sleeping. There, you'll find another chest with weapons and armor.
Loot the Chest: Take the best armor and weapons from the chest, focusing on those with the highest defense and attack stats.
What to Look for in Armor:
Armor Type: Prioritize pieces with the highest defense, especially for your torso and arms.
Comparison: You can compare the new armor with what you already have by checking the defense stats.
