In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" quest revolves around resolving a long-standing dispute between the villages of Tachov and Zhelejov over a contested pasture. To settle the dispute, you need to find a hidden border nail that marks the land division. Here's a simple guide on where to find it:

Location of the Border Nail:

  • Where: The border nail is located in the pasture where the two villages meet.

  • How to Spot It: The nail is hammered into the trunk of a large, lone tree in the center of the pasture. It's about head-height on the eastern side of the tree.

  • Look For: The nail is grey and can be hard to spot, but when you hover over it with your reticle, you'll get a prompt to "Examine the nail."

What to Do with the Border Nail:

Once you've found the border nail, you have several options to resolve the quest:

  1. Leave it as is: Keep the nail in its current position, and then report to the Bailiff. This will divide the pasture equally between the villages.

  2. Move it to the east: If you want to give the majority of the pasture to Zhelejov, remove the nail and place it in a tree further east.

  3. Move it to the west: To give most of the pasture to Tachov, remove the nail and place it in a tree further west.

Quest Outcomes and Rewards:

  • Equal Division (Keep the nail in place): The pasture is divided equally, and you'll receive the "Master's Studies I" book to improve your Scholarship skill.

  • Favoring Tachov (Move the nail to the west): Tachov gets most of the land, and you receive 50 Groschen, plus the "Master's Studies I" book.

  • Favoring Zhelejov (Move the nail to the east): Zhelejov gets most of the land, and you receive 50 Groschen, plus the "Master's Studies I" book.

If you choose to ignore the border nail, you can always opt for the fistfight route, but this won't resolve the dispute fairly.

Good luck with your choices, and remember that each decision will affect how the villagers view you!
