LEGO Fortnite Expeditions Tips and Tricks Guide

Written by Priya Kapoor

If you're new to LEGO Fortnite Expeditions, there are a few very important things you should know before jumping in.

This guide covers the basics of the game mode, how to start, and simple tips to help you level up faster and stay alive longer.

How to Start Expeditions

You can enter Expeditions by walking up to your bus stop and selecting the new Expeditions option. This loads you into a separate world set inside the Supernova Academy.

When you first load in, you'll be placed in a hub with around 50 other players.

You can explore the Academy, train, upgrade classes, or prepare for missions.

Switch or Upgrade Classes Anytime

After picking your Hero Class, you can switch or upgrade it at any time using the Class Terminal.

Just walk up to the terminal with the class icon above it and follow the on-screen options.

Each class has a passive ability, multiple active powers, and an ultimate. You’ll unlock new powers using upgrade points earned from missions.

Playing LEGO Fortnite Expeditions Solo Is Fine

You don’t need a full squad to play. If you queue solo, the game will match you with random players.

They don’t interfere with your world, so you can still explore and complete missions at your own pace.

Practice at the Training Area

The training zone lets you test all your class abilities without limits.

You can read descriptions, test movement powers, and fight against dummies that never die.

This is a great place to figure out which moves work best before heading into missions.

Use the Map to Find Vendors and Terminals

Open your map in the Academy to see where everything is.

The mission terminal, weapon vendor, and class terminal are all marked clearly.

This helps you move faster and prep for your next run without guessing where to go.

Buy Weapons and Gadgets with Essence

You earn Essence during missions. Spend it at the vendor to get a random weapon or gadget.

Weapons include Dual Daggers, War Hammer, and Plasma Pistols. Gadgets give stat boosts like extra health or attack damage. Read our guide on LEGO Fortnite Expeditions Weapons here.

You can equip up to three gadgets at once.

Missions Get Hard Fast

Start on normal difficulty, even if you’ve played Fortnite before.

Each run has multiple mission steps, like setting up comm relays or rescuing citizens.

Enemies swarm in big groups, and it can get overwhelming fast if you’re not prepared.

Even if you fail a mission, you’ll still keep the upgrade points you earned.

Use the Recycle Button for Extra Essence

If you have extra weapons or gadgets, use the Recycle button to break them down into more Essence.

This lets you buy better gear instead of keeping items you don’t use.

Use Two Plasma Pistols to Skip Overheating

One of the best tricks right now is carrying two Plasma Pistols.

When one overheats, switch to the second one to keep firing with no cooldown.

This works in both training and missions and makes the Plasma Pistols one of the top choices right now.

Final Blurb

LEGO Fortnite Expeditions is fast-paced and more difficult than it looks. Start slow, learn your class powers, and spend your Essence wisely.

Use the training zone to test moves, recycle unused gear, and bring two Plasma Pistols to stay in the fight longer.
