Matikanefukukitaru Build Guide | Uma Musume Pretty Derby
Written by Priya Kapoor
Matikanefukukitaru is a Medium and Long-distance Pace Chaser who focuses on Stamina and Power in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. She has a few useful skills, but most of them depend on random triggers, which makes her inconsistent in races.
She’s not good at Short races and isn’t the best pick overall, but with the right build, she can still clear URA and some PvP events.
Stat Priorities
Speed
She needs around 850+ to keep up. Her growth rate doesn’t help here, so build it through support cards.
Stamina
Go for 500+ on Medium and at least 650+ on Long. Her entire playstyle depends on surviving the race.
Power
Get Power to 450+ or more. It helps with uphill climbs and lane switching.
Wit
300+ is enough if you want better skill triggers. Not required but helpful.
Guts
Probably skip it. It doesn’t help her much.
Best Support Cards
2 Stamina Cards
Use support cards with gold recovery skills like Swinging Maestro. This lets you build less raw Stamina.
2 Power Cards
Power helps with her movement and acceleration. Choose ones with Medium-distance skills.
2 Speed Cards
She still needs to move fast. Pick Speed cards that offer stable early bond and Medium race skills.
Training Strategy
Build Bond Early
Start with light training to unlock rainbow boosts. She needs stat scaling to keep up.
Rotate Stamina and Power
If Speed isn’t stacked, train Stamina or Power. Both matter equally for her racing style.
Keep Speed Growing
She can’t win if she’s slow. Prioritize Speed drills with 2 or more supports.
Use Recreation
Mood problems ruin her run. Use Recreation unless everything is bad.
Enter Late Races
Take extra races after URA goals to gain Skill Points. Her skills cost a lot.
Best Skills
Gold Recovery
Use Swinging Maestro or a similar recovery to cut down required Stamina.
Disrupt Skills
She can mess with opponent pacing, but only if you have points to spare.
Mid-Race Boosts
Avoid end-spurt skills. She benefits more from stable, early activations.
Race Style Tips
Keep her in Medium or Long turf races only.
Use Pace Chaser unless you inherit Late Surger traits.
Good legacy picks include Super Creek, Vodka, or Mejiro McQueen.
Avoid Short-distance or Front-runner builds. They don’t fit her kit.
Final Blurb
Matikanefukukitaru needs a little luck and a lot of planning. She’s not the strongest option, but if you train her with the right balance of Stamina, Power, and Speed, she can still win long races.
However, don’t expect her to carry a team in every event.
TL;DR
Only run her in Medium or Long-distance races
Use 2 Stamina, 2 Power, 2 Speed cards
Get Stamina to 500+ for Medium, 650+ for Long
Power should reach 450+
Speed must hit 850+ or higher
Avoid Guts, and Wit is optional at 300+
Use Swinging Maestro or similar for recovery
Rotate training between Speed, Power, and Stamina
Take extra races late to farm Skill Points
Avoid Short-distance and Front-runner inheritance
