King Halo Build Guide | Uma Musume Pretty Derby

Written by Priya Kapoor

King Halo is a Mile-distance Chaser with tricky growth and position issues in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. She has solid Power and Speed growth but low Stamina, and she struggles early due to an awkward race schedule and low consistency.

Still, with a good deck and enough support, she can clear URA and become viable in PvP with the right setup.

Stat Priorities

Speed

Target 1000+ by the end of the run. She needs high Speed to recover from being behind in Mile races.

Stamina

Keep it around 500+. She doesn’t need Long-distance levels, but low Stamina will burn her out fast.

Power

Push to 500+ or more. Chasers need Power to change lanes and finish strong.

Wit

Reach at least 350+. Skill triggers and recovery matter a lot for Chasers.

Guts

300 is fine. Helps with late stamina control and spurt consistency.

Best Support Cards

3 Speed Cards

She needs Speed to keep up. Use ones with bond bonuses and Mile skills.

2 Power Cards

Helps with lane changes and pacing. Cards with Chaser or acceleration passives are good here.

1 Wit or Friend Card

Go with Wit for better skill rate, or a utility support like Tazuna for mood and energy control.

Training Strategy

Build Bond Early

Your first priority is to unlock rainbow training by Year 2. Keep an eye on which drills have support overlaps.

Avoid Resting

Use skill events, Recreation, or mood events to avoid using Rest directly unless the entire board is dead.

Prioritize Speed and Power

Alternate between Speed and Power if both have support overlap. Wit drills can help when both are weak.

Prep for Summer Camp

Enter camp with high energy. Training is auto-boosted to level 5, so burn stamina wisely across all four turns.

Time Your Races

Do G1 Mile races early and often. Aim for 60k fans by February Year 3 to upgrade her unique skill. Go for 120k total by December.

Best Skills

Chaser and Mile Skills

She benefits most from positioning and late-race speed bursts.

Vision and Lane Switch Skills

These help her avoid getting boxed in. A must-have for Chaser roles.

Recovery Skills

If you’re struggling with stamina, take one passive recovery. Swinging Maestro is overkill unless going Medium.

Race Style Tips

Only use King Halo on Mile Turf tracks.
Keep her as a Chaser, though Late Surger is sometimes viable with the right inherit.

Good legacy parents include:

  • Vodka

  • Mejiro McQueen (for endurance)

  • Symboli Rudolf (for strong golds and Mile support)

Avoid Front runner or Short-distance inherit paths. They won’t help.

Final Blurb

King Halo isn’t the easiest to train, but she’s flexible and worth using once you understand her needs. Focus on Speed, Power, and timing her races well.

If you survive the early game, she can outpace most of the Mile field late.

TL;DR

  • Best on Mile Turf races only

  • Use 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Wit or Friend support

  • Speed goal: 1000+, Power: 600+, Stamina: 500+

  • Wit should hit 400 for better skill use

  • Focus on bond building early for rainbow drills

  • Use Recreation to avoid Rest

  • Plan G1 races around fan count milestones

  • Use Chaser-only skills and lane change tools

  • Avoid Short or Long-distance builds altogether
