Mystery Bone Guide and How to Get in Monster Hunter Wilds

Mystery Bones are a crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds, found in Bonepiles and dropped by certain monsters. If you need some for gear upgrades or crafting, here’s where to find them and how to farm them like a boss.

Where to Find Mystery Bones

You can get Mystery Bones from Bonepiles in these areas:

  • Windward Plains

  • Scarlet Forest

  • Oilwell Basin

  • Iceshard Cliffs

  • Ruins of Wyveria

You can also get them by hunting these monsters:

  • Bulaqchi – Found in Windward Plains

  • Porkeplume – Found in Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria

  • Rafma – Found in Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria

How to Collect Mystery Bones

  1. Find a Bonepile in any of the areas above.

  2. Walk up to it and press the interact button when prompted.

  3. Each Bonepile gives three items per harvest (sometimes more if your Palico helps out).

  4. Respawn time is around 15 minutes, so keep rotating through different Bonepiles.

No special tools or pickaxes are needed—just grab the bones and move on.

How to Track Mystery Bones

Since Mystery Bones come from Bonepiles, you can’t track them directly on the map, but you can set waypoints to Bonepile locations:

  1. Open the Map.

  2. Look at the bottom left corner for the Fast Travel List.

  3. Scroll to Filter Icons and select the Bonepile icon.

  4. If a Bonepile is on cooldown, a countdown timer will show when it will be ready again.

  5. Set a waypoint to the nearest available Bonepile and head there.

Final Blurb

  • If you need lots of Mystry Bones, cycle through different regions to farm them efficiently.

  • Monsters like Bulaqchi and Porkeplume can drop them, so hunting them is an alternative way to stock up.

  • If you’re waiting for Bonepiles to respawn, hunt a few monsters or gather other materials in the meantime.

Now you know where to find Mystery Bones—time to go collect them before a giant monster turns you into a pile of bones yourself.
