Sharp Fangs are early-game crafting materials in Monster Hunter Wilds. You won’t get them from big, intimidating monsters—just from smaller creatures that are way easier to deal with.
If you’re looking to build some starter armor, here’s where to find and how to farm Sharp Fangs quickly.
Where to Find Sharp Fangs
Sharp Fangs drop from small monsters, and you’ll mostly find them in rivers and wetlands. Here are the best sources:
Gajios – Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest (best option early on)
Talioth – Windward Plains
Piragill – Scarlet Forest
Kranodath – Oilwell Basin
The easiest target? Gajios. These crocodile-sawfish hybrids swim around Area 8 and 10 in the Windward Plains. They only drop Sharp Fangs, so every hunt is a guaranteed success.
How to Farm Sharp Fangs
Go to Windward Plains (Area 8 or 10).
Look for Gajios swimming in the river.
Hunt them down—they won’t put up much of a fight.
Carve for Sharp Fangs (guaranteed drop).
Repeat as needed.
If you’re in other regions, check your map for small pink diamonds—these mark monsters that might drop Sharp Fangs.
What Can You Craft with Sharp Fangs?
Sharp Fangs are mainly used for low-rank armor, like:
Talioth Vambraces – Basic defense boost.
Chatacabra Coil – Water resistance, helpful against Balahara and other tough Chapter 1 monsters.
To craft the Chatacabra Coil, you’ll also need:
Chatacabra Certificate (from early story missions)
2 Chatacabra Scales
1 Chatacabra Jaw (break the Chatacabra’s face to get this drop)
Final Blurb
Need Sharp Fangs fast? Hunt Gajios in Windward Plains.
Already in a different region? Track small monsters on the map.
Building the Chatacabra Coil? Make sure you break its face to get the jaw drop.
Now you know where to get Sharp Fangs—go farm some before a bigger monster makes you the loot.
