Oblivion Remastered: How to Get Amber Armor

Amber Armor is one of the best light armor sets in Oblivion Remastered. Here’s exactly how you can find it, craft it, and upgrade it.
Where to Find Amber in Oblivion Remastered
To get Amber Armor, you first need to collect Amber and Amber Matrices.
Amber is found inside root dungeons across the Shivering Isles. Look for glowing amber-colored trunks and roots as you explore.
Amber Matrices are rarer and appear randomly inside loot containers. They’re needed if you want special enchanted versions of the armor.
You’ll need a decent amount of Amber — about 16 pieces — if you want to craft a full set.
How to Craft Amber Armor
Once you have Amber:
Travel to Bliss in New Sheoth (in the Shivering Isles).
Visit The Missing Pauldron smithy.
Talk to Dumag gro-Bonk at the forge.
Hand him Amber to craft basic armor pieces.
If you also have an Amber Matrix, you can craft enchanted Amber Armor versions.
The armor’s quality depends on your character’s level when you craft it:
Category | Item | Notes |
---|---|---|
Light Armor | Amber Armor | Found in Shivering Isles, crafted with Amber |
Light Armor | Glass Armor | Found starting at Level 15 from loot/enemies |
Heavy Armor | Daedric Armor | Found starting at Level 20, highest base protection |
Heavy Armor | Madness Armor | Crafted with Madness Ore in Shivering Isles |
If you want the best version (Perfect Amber Armor), it’s smart to wait until you’re at least level 23 before crafting it.

Top Quality (Perfect): 52.75 Armor Rating

Mastering Light Armor skills will push Amber Armor’s performance even closer to top-tier heavy armor like Madness or Daedric sets.
Final Blurb
Getting Amber Armor takes patience, but it's one of the best rewards for light armor users in Oblivion Remastered. Hunt down the Amber, wait for the right level, and you’ll walk away with one of the sharpest-looking and toughest sets in the Isles.
