Oblivion Remastered: How to Get Infinite Magicka

If you want to cast massive spells without ever running out of magicka, there’s a trick in Oblivion Remastered that lets you permanently increase your maximum magicka to absurd levels. Here’s how to pull it off step by step.
What You’ll Need to Get Infinite Magicka
Access to an Altar of Spellmaking
Access to an Altar of Enchanting
An empty item to enchant (clothing, ring, etc.)
A filled soul gem
Three specific spells:
Drain Magicka – Buy from Solenus Vasinus in the Skingrad Mages Guild
Fortify Intelligence – Sold by chapel vendors (e.g. Tumindil at the Great Chapel of Julianos)
Fortify Magicka – Found at Edgar’s Discount Spells in the Imperial City Market District
Step 1: Create the Stacking Spell
At an altar of spellmaking, combine the three effects in this order:
Fortify Intelligence on self – 100 points for 4 seconds
Fortify Magicka on self – 100 points for 4 seconds
Drain Magicka on self – 100 points for 4 seconds
Make sure all three effects have the same duration. If your restoration skill is low, reduce the magnitudes to match your casting ability. Save the spell with any name.
Step 2: Create the Drain Enchanted Item
Go to the enchanting altar.
Enchant any wearable item using a filled soul gem.
Apply the Drain Magicka on Self effect.
Name it and create the item.
Step 3: Cast the Spell Repeatedly
Equip the custom spell you created. Now:
Begin casting it continuously, over and over without stopping.
Each time you cast, your maximum magicka will increase.
Watch your stats rise with every cast.
Do not stop casting or tab out, or the effect chain can break.
You can rubber band your controller or use a macro to automate this if you want to let it run.
Step 4: Lock in the Magicka
Once your magicka hits the amount you want:
Stop casting and let the buffs wear off.
You’ll see your magicka drop into a negative number.
Now equip your enchanted Drain Magicka item.
This will restore your stat back into a visible positive value.
Then just wait one in-game hour to refill your magicka pool.
Now your new maximum magicka is permanent — as long as you keep the item equipped.
Optional: Make Unlimited Magic Permanent Without Equipping
If you want to use other gear but keep the bonus:
Use the inventory duplication glitch to create a copy of the enchanted item.
Equip one copy to lock in the effect, then hot-swap gear around it as needed.
This isn’t necessary, but it gives you more flexibility.
Final Blurb
With this trick, you can give your character tens of thousands of magicka — perfect for chain-casting high-cost destruction spells or making yourself completely unstoppable. Just remember not to unequip your enchanted item unless you're ready to repeat the process.
