Unique weapons in RimWorld Odyssey are special versions of ranged weapons that come with random traits. These traits can increase power, add status effects, change stats, or even hurt the weapon’s value. There are currently 13 weapon types that can roll unique variants, and every one can have dozens of different traits.

How to Get Unique Weapons

You can’t craft unique weapons. You’ll need to find them.

Best ways to get one:

  • Open sealed containers

  • Loot Ancient Mercenary or Orbital Item Stash quests

  • Complete rare fishing events

  • Get them as gifts from visitors

Ancient Garrisons, Ancient Dangers, and Weapons Depots do not drop them. If you're looking for a consistent source, Orbital Stash quests are your best bet.

Weapon Types

Unique weapons can be any of the following:

  • Assault Rifle

  • Beam Repeater

  • Bolt-Action Rifle

  • Chain Shotgun

  • Charge Lance

  • Charge Rifle

  • Greatbow

  • Heavy SMG

  • Hellcat Rifle

  • LMG

  • Minigun

  • Revolver

  • Sniper Rifle

Each unique weapon has one or more traits. Some improve accuracy or damage. Others give special effects like EMP bursts or toxic rounds.

Best Traits to Look For

Damage and Penetration

  • High Power Rounds – boosts both damage and armor piercing

  • Charge Capacitor – huge power boost, ideal for pulse weapons

  • Piercing Rounds – extra armor penetration

  • Broadhead Arrows or Oversized Rounds – for bows and high-stopping guns

Utility and Status Effects

  • EMP Rounds – disables mechanoids and turrets

  • Tox Rounds or Tox Pellets – poisons enemies on hit

  • Incendiary Rounds – causes fires, useful in raids

  • Paralytic Arrows – short stuns on hit

Accuracy and Speed

  • Quick Reload – faster cooldown between shots

  • Aim Assistance – ignores weather and smoke penalties

  • Improved Sights or Precision Scope – better aim and faster shots

  • Lightweight – reduces warmup time

  • Extended Barrel – increases range

Special Attachments

Some unique weapons roll with built-in launchers:

  • Grenade Launcher – fires frag grenades

  • EMP Launcher – fires EMP shells

  • Smoke Launcher – fires smoke shells to block turret aim

  • Incendiary Launcher – ignites areas with chemfuel shells

  • Bioferrite Burner – flame blast powered by bioferrite (Anomaly DLC only)

Each launcher uses charges and needs reloading. They're great for early fights but need steady supply chains to use often.

Aesthetic or Trade-Value Traits

  • Gold Inlay – traders pay more

  • Jade Inlay – adds value and beauty

  • Ornamental – pretty, but weaker

  • Ugly – works fine, but sells for less

These don’t affect combat much but help if you're selling gear.

Traits to Avoid

Not every trait is good. Watch out for:

  • Shoddy Sights – hurts accuracy

  • Cumbersome – slows down aim

  • Pulse Charger – huge damage boost, but major accuracy penalty

  • Ornamental – looks nice, performs worse

  • Shortened Barrel – hurts range badly

Some traits come with major downsides, especially if stacked. Check the weapon details before handing it to your best shooter.
