RuneScape: Dragonwilds Archery Explained

Archery exists in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but let’s not get too excited. It’s less “master marksman” and more “guy who found a stick and some rocks.” Still, it does work—and if you’d rather not get too close to anything with claws, it’s worth knowing.

Can You Use a Bow in Dragonwilds?

Yes, you can. You can be that person.

Archery is part of the crafting-combat experience. Here's how it works:

  • Bows can be crafted at a Crafting Table.

  • Arrows come in a few varieties like Stone Arrows (basic) and Fang Arrows (sharper, cooler, scarier name).

  • You can shoot from a safe distance, which is great if you enjoy keeping your organs inside your body.

It's a good option for early fights or if you want to kite enemies around like you're in a bad relationship you can’t quit.

What’s Missing?

There’s one big thing you’ll notice: no Ranged skill tree.

That means:

  • No XP gain from using bows

  • No level-ups

  • No fancy archery abilities waiting for you down the line

The Ranged skill is marked as “Coming Soon” in the menu. So right now, archery feels more like a side hustle than a career path. It’s fun, it’s useful—but it’s not going to make you a legendary archer. Yet.

How to Get Started With Archery

If you're still in your spawn rags and want to shoot things:

  1. Craft a Crafting Table using 4x Ash Logs.

  2. Build a Bow (unlocked from Doric after the basic crafting quest).

  3. Craft Arrows using materials like Stone or monster drops.

  4. Equip both and start firing at enemies from a healthy, commitment-free distance.

Archery doesn’t use Runes like Magic does, so no need to juggle magic rocks—just basic pointy sticks.

Final Blurb

Archery in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is here, kind of. You can craft bows, shoot arrows, and play keep-away with giant bugs. But there’s no leveling system yet, so don’t expect a skill cape anytime soon.

Right now, it’s a great way to stay alive. Later, it might actually get deep. For now, shoot first, ask the devs later.
