During The Heart of the Living Lands quest in Avowed, you’ll have to decide whether to free Sapadal, destroy her, or merge with her. This choice affects your abilities and the game’s ending.

Option 1: What Happens if You Free Sapadal?

  • You get Sapadal’s Fury, a powerful ability that lifts enemies into the air and slams them down for massive damage.

  • Leads to a more optimistic ending.

  • If you tell Lödwyn in advance, she fights you.

Best for: Players who want a strong AoE attack and a hopeful ending.

Option 2: What Happens if You Destroy/Kill Sapadal?

  • You get Woedica’s Call, which summons a maegfolc ally to fight for you.

  • The ending is more tragic.

  • If you tell Lödwyn in advance, she doesn’t fight you.

Best for: Players who prefer a summoned ally over an attack and don’t mind a darker ending.

Option 3: What Happens if You Merge with Sapadal?

  • You still get Sapadal’s Fury but lose all epilogue scenes about her.

  • The game treats this as an alternative path rather than a full-on "freeing" or "destroying" choice.

Best for: Players who want the best ability but don’t care about the story consequences.

Should You Tell Lödwyn You’ll Free Sapadal?

  • Yes: Triggers a boss fight with her.

  • No: Avoids the fight, but you can still choose to free Sapadal later.

Which Choice is Best?

  • Freeing Sapadal is generally the best option for a powerful ability and a brighter ending.

  • Destroying her is for those who prefer a summoned ally and don’t mind a sad ending.

  • Merging with her keeps the best ability but removes her from the ending.

Pick whatever suits your playstyle, but Sapadal’s Fury is arguably the most useful reward.
