Flax is one of the most important early-game resources in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You’ll need it for crafting threads, bowstrings, and even the Spinning Wheel itself. Luckily, it’s not hard to find—if you know where to look.
Best Places to Find Flax in RuneScape Dragonwilds
You’ll start finding Flax early on in Bramblemead Valley, but the best farming spot is just outside a goblin-infested zone near broken buildings.
Look for blue flowers on the ground. The color stands out clearly against the grass.
Search inside and around ruined houses, especially ones taken over by goblins.
Be ready to fight or run—there are enemies in the area.
Flax also spawns near water bodies, usually with other plants like Potatoes.
Walk up to the plant and interact to collect it.
What Flax Is Used For
Flax is used to make:
Coarse Thread (used in most early crafting)
Linen and Bowstrings
The Spinning Wheel, which lets you process it
Spinning Wheel recipe:
12x Ash Logs
4x Flax
2x Stone
Once built (under a roof), you can use Flax in a 1:1 ratio to make Coarse Thread.
Final Blurb
Flax is easy to miss but hard to live without in RuneScape Dragon Wilds. Keep an eye out for those blue flowers early, grab as much as you can, and start spinning. It’s your first step toward better gear—and less dying.
