The VAC Indicators are the six glowing circles on the Breaker Box in the Utility Closet—and they’re hiding one of the sneakiest secrets in Blue Prince. Solving this puzzle opens a hidden wall and unlocks a permanent bonus that makes every future run better.
Here's exactly how to handle it, no guesswork required.
What the VAC/Breaker Box Does (Before the Puzzle)
Before you mess with the puzzle part, the Breaker Box already has some useful switches. Here’s what each toggle does:
Keycard Entry System – Disabling this means you no longer need a keycard to open metal doors.
Gymnasium – Turns off the “lose 5 steps” penalty.
Dark Room – Lets you see floorplans again while drafting inside the Dark Room.
Garage – Opens the Garage Door so you can reach the West Gate.
Cabinet – Tied to a late-game secret.
All of this works no matter where you place the Utility Closet—but you’ll need to walk back to it if you want to change anything.

Step 1: The Puzzle Clues
To solve the puzzle, you need two main clues:
Mail Room Clue – Says to turn all lights green, combine blue and red to make purple, and get five purples to activate the sixth light.
Office Clue (Terminal) – Gives you the solution:
Off - Blue - Green - White - Red - Purple
If you skipped those, don’t worry. Here’s exactly what to click and in what order.
Step 2: Turn Everything Green First
Click all six VAC indicators once to turn them green.
Step 3: Mix Colors to Get Purple
Click 1st, 3rd, and 5th lights to make them blue.
Click 2nd, 4th, and 6th lights to make them red.
Now go back and click on each blue light again (1st, 3rd, 5th). These are now paired with reds and should become purple.
Finally, click the 4th light again. It should turn white.
You now have:
Purple - Purple - Purple - White - Purple - Purple
Step 4: Make the Final Color Code
Now for the final twist… Your goal is:
Off - Blue - Green - White - Red - Purple
To get there:
Leave the 4th light alone (it’s already white).
Leave the 6th light alone (it’s already purple).
Click the 5th light to turn it red.
Click the 3rd light to turn it green.
Click the 1st light again to turn it off (gray).
Click the 2nd light again to turn it blue.
You should now have:
Off - Blue - Green - White - Red - Purple
Rewards for Solving It
A hidden wall behind the Breaker Box slides open, revealing a lever. Pulling this gives you access to:
The Gemstone Cavern, found outside the manor.
+2 Gems at the start of every day.
A blue flame valve, which you need to light all four flames.
DO NOT mine the cavern unless you’re okay losing that daily gem bonus forever.
