If you’re new to Conquest Dark, there’s a lot to take in—so let’s make sure you don’t instantly bleed to death.
Pick Your Class (Carefully)
At the start, you’ll only have the Hunter and Barbarian.
Hunter = ranged, faster, dodge-heavy, uses bows and lunar damage.
Barbarian = melee, tougher, gets more bleed resistance, uses two-handers and primal damage.
As you play, you’ll unlock more classes like the Paladin (Oathkeeper), Thief, and Acolyte of Kuu. Each has totally different weapons, abilities, and gear.

Understanding Lives and Bleed
You start every run with 10 lives.
Lose a life? You start bleeding.
Bleed slowly drains your health permanently.
The more you die, the more bleed you stack.
Bleed can’t be removed—only slowed down with bleed resistance, total resistance, or healing soul pickups. You’ll want to get at least one of those going early.

Weapons, Skills, and Runes
When a run starts, kill an enemy to grab your weapon. Look for weapons that match your proficiencies (short bows, swords, etc.) to get extra bonuses.
Abilities unlock as you level up. Some are passive boosts, others give you special attacks like Ricochet Shot or Whirlwind.
Runes are modifiers you can equip on weapons and abilities during a run:
Crit chance, crit damage, healing chance, projectile split, and more.
You unlock more rune slots by upgrading abilities and weapons at the main menu using silver coins.
What to Upgrade First
In the meta progression screen, start upgrading:
Your favorite weapon (adds rune slots and damage).
Key abilities (adds rune slots).
General bonuses like all damage or critical hit chance.
Don’t waste coins early on upgrading everything. Focus on what fits the class you like playing.
Factions
Every class earns Faction XP during runs.
Example: Playing a Barbarian increases Primal Damage for all future characters.
Playing Hunter increases Piercing Chance globally.
Leveling factions takes time but makes every class stronger forever.
Survival Tips
Prioritize Bleed Resistance and Healing Souls early.
Focus on attack speed and projectile amount for Hunters.
For melee builds, get damage resistance and health regen fast.
Kill bosses for powerful gear drops or skip for extra runes.
Remember: bleed is slow death—don’t let it snowball.
Permanent Unlocks and Grinding
Almost everything you do unlocks something:
New weapons, armor sets, abilities, runes, and even new areas.
Silver coins (for upgrades) and red Corrupted Souls (for major stat boosts) are your meta-currency.
Yes, there’s grinding—but every run helps.

Final Blurb
Bleed will kill you eventually. But if you stack the right gear, shoot fast, and keep upgrading, you’ll last longer each time. Just don’t stand still unless you want to meet the meat grinder.
