Bleed in Conquest Dark is probably the main reason most players lose their runs. If you don’t fully understand how it works, you’ll find yourself wondering why your health is draining even when nobody’s hitting you.

Here’s exactly how bleed works and how to handle it.

What Is Bleed in Conquest Dark?

Bleed starts the moment you lose your first life.

  • You begin every run with 10 lives.

  • Lose all your health? You lose a life and immediately start bleeding.

  • Bleed stacks — each time you lose a life, you get another stack.

Each stack reduces your maximum health by 1% and constantly drains health over time. Bleed never wears off and can’t be cleansed or removed.

Why Bleed Feels So Dangerous

Bleed isn’t like poison or burn. It’s permanent.

  • We’ve seen getting up to 7 stacks in a run, which basically puts you in a race against the clock.

  • Even if enemies stop hitting you, your own bleed will kill you eventually if not managed.

The longer the run, the worse it gets.

How to Reduce Bleed Damage

You can’t remove Bleed, but you can slow it down or heal through it:

Bleed Resistance

  • Certain armor pieces and passives grant Reduced Bleed Rate.

  • This slows how fast Bleed drains your health. Some players stack over 100% reduction for late-game survival.

Health Regen

  • Boost Health Regeneration wherever possible.

  • The Chance to Spawn Healing Souls stat is a lifesaver. These drop healing orbs during combat.

Max Health and Barriers

  • Increasing Max Health gives you a bigger buffer before bleed becomes fatal.

  • Barrier effects (like the Acolyte of Kuu’s playstyle) absorb damage and can prevent future bleed stacks by avoiding health loss.

Dodge and Movement

  • Avoid getting hit to stop losing lives in the first place.

  • Dodge Charges and Movement Speed upgrades reduce incoming damage.

How To Plan Your Builds Around Bleed

You have two real strategies:

  • Bleed Mitigation Build

    • Prioritize Reduced Bleed Rate, Healing Soul chance, and health regen.

    • Armor with bleed reduction should be taken every time it shows up.

  • Bleed Avoidance Build

    • Focus on Dodge Charges, Movement Speed, Max Health, and Resilience (damage taken reduced).

    • Play ranged, avoid tanking hits, and kite enemies.

Common Bleed Mistakes

  • Not checking armor stats: Many players overlook early gear with bleed reduction and regret it later.

  • Stacking only DPS: If you only build Crit Chance and All Damage, you’ll eventually die to Bleed.

  • Ignoring defense until it’s too late: Once you have 3-4 Bleed stacks, it’s very hard to recover.

Final Blurb

In most games, losing a life is just a checkpoint or game over. In Conquest Dark, it’s the start of a slow death spiral called Bleed. Survive longer by planning around it from your first level up — not your seventh stack. If you ignore Bleed, you’re already dead.
