Deltarune Chapter 4 Weird Route Guide

Written by Aarav Agarwal

If you’re looking for a Weird Route Chapter 4 guide in Deltarune, you’ve come to the right place… and it’s somehow even darker than before. If you’ve already started this alternate path in Chapters 2 and 3, you’ll unlock a disturbing new sequence when you reach Noelle’s house.

Here's how to trigger it and what actually happens.

What You Need to Do First for the Weird Route

You can’t trigger Chapter 4’s Weird Route unless you’ve already done the right things in Chapter 2 and 3.

If you’ve followed the Snowgrave path and done the Chapter 3 Weird scenes, the next piece continues once you're inside Noelle’s house near the start of Chapter 4.

How to Trigger the Chapter 4 Weird Route

Go upstairs and enter Noelle’s room.

Inspect the guitar to start the scene. Kris will drop to the ground, pull out his soul (your red heart), and walk it into the hallway. He shoves it into a drawer right before Noelle calls to him.

Then Noelle invites him into the next room. Before he goes in, Kris moves the soul again; this time into a gift box. As the soul, you now get to control it.

Push the large box away and move through the air vents. Go straight, then left at the dead end.

You’ll stop above the couch where Kris and Noelle are talking. When she says, “Kris, can I… say something else?” the soul drops into the room. Float the soul back into Kris’s body, and the next dialogue begins.

Dialogue Choices to Make

These are the key choices that matter during this scene:

  • When Noelle asks who’s listening, choose “Me.”

  • When she reacts, choose “I heard.”

  • When she tests you, pick anything

  • When she accuses you of lying, pick either “You’re getting stronger” or “You want to protect her.”

  • Keep choosing “Equip” and “Proceed” to finish the sequence

Kris then walks to the bathroom, takes the soul out, throws it into the trash can, and kicks it repeatedly.

What Happens at the Church

Later on, you’re at the church with Ralsei and Susie.

  • When Ralsei asks what Susie’s praying about, say “Seems unnecessary.”

  • When she asks you to close your eyes, say “Don’t.”

  • When she asks if you’re thinking of someone, choose “Think of Noelle.”

You’ll see a red dot on-screen that says “Thank You.”

In the final shot of the chapter, Kris is back in bed. The soul is locked inside a cage beside him.

What the Weird Route Means

The Chapter 4 Weird Route doesn’t just add a creepy scene... it changes everything.

Noelle becomes aware that someone may be controlling Kris. Kris is clearly trying to protect her, but the soul (you) keeps interfering. The moment where Kris violently kicks the soul shows just how broken his control has become.

And the scene in the church, with Noelle’s soul thanking Kris, implies that she may not even be alive anymore... or if she is, something is deeply wrong.

None of this is confirmed, of course. Like the rest of the Weird Route, it’s left vague and unsettling on purpose.

Final Blurb

The Chapter 4 Weird Route is short, brutal, and full of questions. Whether it’s a nightmare, a warning, or just a glimpse at what Kris is going through, one thing is clear: this path isn’t just weird... it’s dangerous.

FAQ

Q: Can you do the Chapter 4 Weird Route without doing Snowgrave?

No, you need to have triggered the Weird Route in Chapters 2 and 3 to access the scene in Noelle’s house.

Q: What triggers the soul cage scene at the end of Chapter 4?

You must complete the Weird Route dialogue choices and finish the soul trash can scene in the bathroom.

Q: Is Noelle dead in the Weird Route?

It’s never stated clearly, but the red petals and “Thank You” from her soul suggest something terrible happened to her.

Q: Can you avoid the Weird Route after starting it in Chapter 2?

Only if you reload a save. Once it’s active, the next chapters build off it automatically.
