Maybe you spent way too long in character creation, only to realize your hunter’s face looks strange in certain lighting. Or maybe you just got tired of the same old look. Either way, you can change your appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds. Some changes are free, while others require a Character Edit Voucher.

Option 1: Free Changes (Base Camp Tent Method)

If you just want to tweak hairstyle, makeup, facial hair, or clothing, you can do that for free in the Avis Unit Tent at your Base Camp.

How to Change Your Look for Free

  • Go to the Windward Plains Base Camp.

  • Enter the Avis Unit Tent where the customization options are available.

  • Select Change Appearance and adjust:

    • Hairstyle

    • Eyebrows

    • Makeup

    • Voice pitch

    • Clothing (including undergarments)

  • Confirm changes and return to hunting.

This method does not allow full character redesigns, but it is useful for minor adjustments.

Option 2: Full Makeover (Character Edit Voucher Method)

If you need to change gender, body type, or facial structure, you will need a Character Edit Voucher.

What a Voucher Lets You Change

  • Gender

  • Face shape

  • Body size

  • Age

  • Any feature from the original character creation menu

Where to Get a Character Edit Voucher

  • Palico Support Desk – Conut, the vendor at Base Camp, sells them.

  • Platform Store (DLC) – Available through your console's store as downloadable content.

Each voucher is one-time use, so make sure you are satisfied with your choices before confirming.

Things You Cannot Change

Even with a voucher, certain details are permanent:

  • Palico name – Whatever you named your cat, you are stuck with it.

  • Hunter name – The name chosen at the start cannot be changed.

  • Voice type – The pitch can be adjusted, but the original selection stays.

Final Blurb

For minor tweaks, use the Base Camp tent for free. For a full redesign, Character Edit Vouchers are the only option. Either way, most of the game is spent in armor, so appearance changes may not be as noticeable as they seem in the moment.
