How to Get Corrupted Fish in V Rising 1.1

Image Credits: Stunlock Studios, V Rising

Corrupted Fish are part of the Oakveil update in V Rising 1.1, and they’re quite a bit more than just gross collectibles. You can press them into Venom Sap or feed them to prisoners to raise their blood quality… With a small chance of disaster, of course.

Here’s where to find Corrupted Fish and how to use them smartly.

Where to Find Corrupted Fish

Oakveil Woodlands

  • Corrupted Fish spawn in Oakveil fishing spots.

  • Focus on tainted or foggy water pools, especially ones near the Venom Mixing Outpost.

  • Reports suggest they appear most in Brighthaven Docks fishing holes if corrupted fog is active.

  • Not every fishing spot gives them—stick to Oakveil and keep casting.

Drop Chance and Tips

  • Low spawn rate. Expect to fish 10+ times before seeing one.

  • Use lures or fishing boosts to increase your odds.

  • Bring a high gear score—many Oakveil areas are packed with high-level enemies near the water.

  • Try fishing during nighttime, which seems to slightly improve rare catches.

What to Do With Corrupted Fish

Blood Press

  • Press 1 Corrupted Fish = 12 Venom Sap and 2 Fish Bones

  • One of the best passive sources of Venom Sap for advanced crafting

Prisoners

  • Feed to raise blood quality over time

  • Has a chance to increase health, decrease misery, and slowly push toward 100% blood quality

  • Careful: there's a 1% chance the prisoner dies per feeding

  • Best used on low-misery prisoners with decent starting blood

Final Blurb

Corrupted Fish are ugly, rare, and slightly dangerous—just like most good things in V Rising. If you’re farming Venom Sap or chasing perfect blood, it’s worth braving the fog, grabbing your rod, and seeing what Oakveil spits back at you. Just… don’t eat one yourself.
