How to Move Your Base in Dune Awakening

How to Move Your Base in Dune Awakening

Written by Tyler Harris

You can move your base in Dune: Awakening, but it’s not exactly quick or painless. You’ll need to pick up everything, pack it into storage, and then rebuild it all from scratch in a new spot.

It “works”, but don’t expect a teleport button.

How to Relocate Your Base

Use the Dismantle Option

To start, you’ll need to dismantle your entire base, piece by piece. That includes walls, crafting stations, furniture, and anything else you’ve placed.

Use the Construction Tool, look at a structure, and hold the button to dismantle. The game will refund all or most of the materials when you do this, but you’ll want to have room to carry it all.

Store Your Items

Once you’ve taken everything down, pack your materials and portable gear into Storage Containers or your inventory. Vehicles help, but if your storage is full, you’ll have to do multiple trips or leave some stuff behind.

Make sure to empty your Sub-Fief container before trying to move the claim. You won’t be able to relocate until that’s done.

Reclaim Your Sub-Fief

After the area is fully cleared, unclaim your current Sub-Fief. Open the map, select your claim, and choose the option to remove it.

Now, head to your new spot and place a new Sub-Fief stake. As long as no one else owns that land, you can settle in right away and start rebuilding.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • You can only move your base once everything is cleared

  • You lose access to your fast travel while your Sub-Fief is unclaimed

  • Some zones may already be claimed, especially near key resources

  • Power setups and circuit load will need to be redone at the new site

  • If you’re moving for PvP reasons, pick a more defensible location this time

Final Blurb

Moving your base in Dune: Awakening is more like uprooting a whole settlement than dragging a tent. It takes time, effort, and a lot of carrying capacity... but if you’re stuck in a bad spot or just want a fresh start, it gets the job done.

FAQ

Q: Can you move your base in Dune: Awakening?

Q: Do I keep all my materials when I dismantle?

Most of them, yes. The game refunds the bulk of what you used.

Q: Can I move my Sub-Fief without taking everything down?

No, the land claim won’t lift until everything is dismantled and removed.

Q: Will my power setup transfer?

No, you’ll need to rebuild all generators and reconnect circuits at the new location.

Q: Why move a base at all?

Better land, closer to resources, safer from PvP raids, or just for a fresh build.
