Stuck in a ditch? Flipped on your roof? Trailer wedged sideways in a tree?
Here’s how to reset your vehicle in RoadCraft quickly, without losing your mind... or your cargo if you're lucky.
This reset feature is built into the game, but it doesn’t always explain itself. Let’s walk through how it works, when to use it, and why it's one of the most-used buttons in RoadCraft.

How to Reset Your Vehicle
To reset your vehicle in RoadCraft, you need to press and hold the reset key.
On keyboard press and hold down R.
On controller press and hold up on the d-pad.
If up doesn’t work, check the top-left of your screen and it should tell you what button to use.
You’ll know it's working when the screen fades briefly and your vehicle respawns nearby. If neither of these work check your key-bindings; it is possible that, for some reason, your settings were changed.
Just make sure to hold the button down... tapping it does nothing.
If that doesn’t work at all, keep reading.
When to Use the Reset Function
Use this when your truck is:
Flipped upside down
Floating off the edge of the map
Stuck between rocks, trees, fences, or buildings
Unable to move at all
You don’t need to exit the vehicle or restart the game. The reset button will handle it.
What Happens After You Reset
The game will move your truck to the nearest flat surface or road.
Most of the time, it’s just a few feet from where you got stuck.
Important: Cargo may not come with you.
If you had something winched or strapped, it might fall off during the reset. You'll need to reload it by hand.
This is especially common when hauling pipes or large equipment.
If the Reset Option Doesn’t Work
Sometimes the reset prompt just won’t show up.
Here’s what to try:
Adjust your camera angle
Try nudging the vehicle a little
Unstrap any cargo that might be interfering
Switch to another vehicle and back again
As a last resort, reload your last checkpoint
The reset option only appears when the game thinks your vehicle is truly stuck.
So if you're barely off-road, you might have to do some extra wiggling first.
Final Blurb & FAQ
The reset button in RoadCraft is your best friend... and your most-used tool when things go sideways, literally.
Whether you’re hauling steel, trying to climb a slope that wasn’t meant to be climbed, or got a little too confident with your crane arm, this feature keeps the frustration low and the progress going.
