How to Move Rocks in RoadCraft
If you’re trying to move rocks during your road-building missions in RoadCraft, the answer depends on the size of the rock. Small and medium ones can be cleared out with the right equipment... but those massive boulder-sized ones?
Forget it. You’ll have to work around them.
Here’s how it actually works.
Small to Medium Rocks
Use a Loader to Push Them Aside
If the rocks are roughly the size of a tire or smaller, grab a loader (like the front-end loader or small dozer) and shove them off the path. Just angle your blade or bucket and gently guide them to the side of the road.
If it feels like herding stubborn cows... welcome to RoadCraft.
They Won’t Disappear
Just a heads up, rocks don’t vanish once moved. You’re literally pushing them out of your way, not breaking them down. So try not to pile them up somewhere you’ll need to drive through later.
Huge Rocks
You Can’t Move These
If the rock looks like it weighs more than your entire truck, you’re not moving it. These ones are part of the environment and completely non-physical... meaning they won’t even react to your vehicle or equipment.
Plan Around Them
Your only option here is to go around. Use the terrain, clear an alternate path, or adjust your road layout. Trying to bulldoze these is like trying to push a mountain.
Spoiler: the mountain wins.
Final Blurb & FAQ
Some rocks in RoadCraft can be pushed. Some are just there to ruin your route and your mood. Know the difference, and plan your roads accordingly.
If it looks too big to move... it probably is.
FAQ
Q: How can I tell if a rock is too big to move?
If your loader blade clips through it without budging it at all, it’s not going anywhere.
Q: Can I destroy rocks with another tool later?
No. There’s no tool or upgrade that lets you break huge rocks right now.
Q: Can I use a crane or other heavy equipment to lift big rocks?
Nope. Even cranes can’t touch the non-moveable rocks. They’re just permanent map features.
Q: Will future updates let me break rocks?
There’s no official word, but the devs might add demolition tools or upgrades down the line. For now, just go around.
