The Esh's Catalyst is an item in Path of Exile 2 that enhances rings and amulets by boosting lightning-related stats, like lightning damage and lightning resistance. Here’s a quick guide:
When Should You Use Esh's Catalyst?
You Need More Lightning Damage:
Use it to increase the damage output of builds that focus on lightning skills or effects.
You Need Better Lightning Resistance:
If you're fighting enemies with heavy lightning damage, this Catalyst boosts your resistance to help you survive.
Your Gear Has Lightning Stats:
Apply it to rings or amulets that already have lightning-related modifiers to enhance those stats further.
How to Use Esh's Catalyst
Get the Catalyst:
Esh’s Catalyst is exclusive to Breach events, where you fight hordes of monsters in alternate dimensions. These events often drop Breach-exclusive loot, including the Esh’s Catalyst.
Pick a Ring or Amulet:
Choose an item with lightning damage or lightning resistance as a modifier.
Apply the Catalyst:
Right-click Esh's Catalyst, then left-click on the item.
Each use increases the quality of lightning-related stats, up to a maximum of 20%.
Tips for Using Esh's Catalyst
Focus on Lightning Builds:
Use it on items essential for lightning-based characters, such as those with lightning damage or resistance.
Don’t Use It on Weak Items:
Only apply it to high-quality rings or amulets that you plan to keep for a long time.
Max Out the Quality:
Keep applying Esh's Catalyst until the item reaches 20% quality for the best results.
Example
If you’re playing a lightning mage and need more damage:
Apply Esh's Catalyst to an amulet with "+25% to lightning damage."
The Catalyst increases the lightning damage, making your spells hit even harder.
