Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - The Axe From The Lake Guide

Quest Type: Side Quest
Quest Giver: Zdenyek the Mouth
Location: Tachov, Trosky Region

How to Start:

1. After completing the "Laboratores" quest, head to Tachov in the Trosky Region.

2. Find Zdenyek the Mouth at the Tavern in Tachov. He usually roams around, sits at a table, or works nearby.

3. Speak to Innkeeper Prochek first to learn about the town and Zdenyek. You can ask Prochek what's going on around here.

4. Buy Zdenyek a drink (25 Groschen) or use your stats to convince him to share a story. He’ll tell you about a silver axe buried near Rocktower Pond.

Where to Find the Silver Axe:

1. After getting the story, go west of Zhelejov, where the task marker is located on the map.

2. Follow the path along the pond, then take the right path through the forest.

3. Keep going up the hill until you reach a nest, where you’ll find a grave.

4. You need a spade to dig the grave. You can buy one from Merchant Jurg Thomel in Troskowitz or steal one if you prefer.

What’s Inside the Grave:

• Broken Round Shield

• Gemstone Silver Ring

• Marigold

• Broken Axe

Pick up everything and head back to Tachov.

Repairing the Axe:

1. Take the Broken Axe to Blacksmith Radovan in Tachov to repair it.

2. At the forge, heat the Broken Axe until it turns a whitish-orange color.

3. Move it to the anvil, hammer it, and rotate it so you don’t hit the same spot twice.

4. Once the glow fades, reheat and repeat until the smithing process is complete.

Final Steps:

• Once the axe is repaired, return to Zdenyek to tell him about the completed task.

• After your conversation, you will receive the Adorned Axe as a reward, and the quest will be completed.
