Weapon relics are easy to overlook, but they can completely change how your weapon performs. They can be found throughout different acts, and can add effects like poison, burn, lifesteal, or bonus damage.

However, unless you attach them at a grindstone, they do nothing.

Here’s how to use them, where to go, and which relics are worth slotting in early.

How Weapon Relics Work

Weapon relics are special items that give your weapon a passive bonus. But before you can get the bonus, your weapon needs a relic slot.

Most weapons don’t have any slots by default. You’ll have to add them yourself.

To use a relic:

  • Visit a Grindstone (there’s one at Osbryht’s Blacksmith in Shadow of the Horn)

  • Pick the weapon you want to modify

  • If it doesn’t have a relic slot, click the plus sign and spend 500 gold to add one

  • Once the slot is added, click it and choose a relic from your inventory

  • You can add up to two slots per weapon

Once a relic is installed, it becomes permanent. You can’t remove or swap it, so choose carefully.

Where to Find Relics

Relics drop from bosses, show up in hidden chests, or reward you for finishing side quests. Some good places to check:

  • Bounty board missions in Shadow of the Horn

  • Buried treasure spots (bring a shovel)

  • Enemy camps and story dungeons

You’ll find several just by exploring Act 1. Most have a small weight, so stash the ones you’re not using. Your stash connects directly to the grindstone menu, so you won’t need to carry them around.

Final Blurb

Weapon relics are more than just loot; they're upgrades that give your gear permanent power boosts.

Just don’t forget to bring 500 gold. No slot means no bonus.
