Before you can make fancy Bronze Bars, you’ll need to do the unglamorous part: mining Tin and Copper Ore. These two are the bread and butter of early-game crafting in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. And while the game doesn’t hold your hand, it also doesn’t hide the rocks that well.

Best Place to Find Tin and Copper

If you’re tired of scraping tiny chunks off random boulders, you’ll want to head to the Fractured Plains. It’s the go-to spot for mining:

  • Copper Ore nodes

  • Tin Ore nodes

  • Usually clustered together, so you’re not running in circles

Where is it?

  • Go north of Whispering Swamp

  • You’ll hit Fractured Plains, a slightly spicier region with better resources

  • Mid-game enemies lurk there, so pack some armor and snacks

What You Need to Mine

Rocks don’t give up their ore easily. You’ll need at least a Bone Pickaxe to start collecting Tin and Copper properly.

To get one:

  • Build a Crafting Table

  • Gather Bones and Leather

  • Craft the Bone Pickaxe once the recipe is unlocked

Without it, you’re just hitting rocks for the exercise.

Can You Find Tin and Copper Earlier?

Technically, yes. But:

  • Early-game zones only have a few scattered nodes

  • It’s super slow and not worth the effort

  • You’re better off preparing and jumping straight into Fractured Plains when ready

Bonus Tips for Dragon Wilds Mining

  • Ore respawns over time—don’t panic if you mine a spot dry

  • Build a small outpost near the Fractured Plains so you don’t have to jog across the map every time

  • Bring light gear to avoid encumbrance—you’re here to mine, not to hoard

Final Blurb

Tin and Copper Ore are your ticket to better tools and stronger gear in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. But unless you want to spend your life nibbling at lonely rocks in starter zones, head to the Fractured Plains, bring your Bone Pickaxe, and get mining. Just watch your back—those wolves aren’t there for sightseeing.
