Does R.E.P.O. Have Controller Support?
If you were hoping to sit back, relax, and play R.E.P.O. with a controller, I have some news: the game does not have native controller support. It’s built around keyboard and mouse, so plugging in your gamepad and hoping for the best won’t get you very far.
That said, there might be a workaround—if you’re willing to tinker.
Steam Deck & Controller Mapping
If you’re playing on Steam Deck (or using Steam’s controller configuration tools), you can manually map the game’s controls to a gamepad. Steam Input lets you assign buttons and joysticks to act as keyboard and mouse inputs. Basically, you’re tricking the game into thinking your controller is a keyboard.
The catch? The game still thinks you’re using a keyboard, so all prompts and UI will reference keys, not buttons. It’s not true controller support, just a workaround for those determined to ditch the keyboard.
So, while you can play R.E.P.O. with a controller using Steam Input, the game itself doesn’t officially support it. But hey, if you’re willing to fight the system, who am I to stop you?
