How to Anoint Your Amulet and Maps in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2)
In Path of Exile 2 (PoE2), anointing your amulet and maps is a great way to add extra power to your builds and maps. Here’s a simple guide to get you started.
What Are Distilled Emotions?
Distilled Emotions are like the oils in POE1. You get them by running maps with the Delirium League mechanic. When you enter a map with Delirium, you’ll see a bar at the bottom left of your screen. This bar fills up as you kill mobs. Each reward you earn guarantees at least one Distilled Emotion.

How to Anoint Your Maps
Right-Click a Distilled Emotion:
This opens the Instilling screen.
Place your map in the slot.
Choose Your Distilled Emotions:
Each type of Distilled Emotion gives a different effect. For example:
Distilled Ire: Adds more magic monsters.
Distilled Paranoia: Adds more rare monsters.
Distilled Fear: Rare monsters have extra modifiers.
Distilled Envy: Increases Whetstone drops.
Distilled Despair: Boosts stack size of Simulacrum splinters.
Apply the Anointment:
Once you’ve added the Distilled Emotions, click Instill to finish.
Your map is now juiced with extra rewards but will be more challenging.
Tips for Anointed Maps
Difficulty Warning: The more Distilled Emotions you use, the harder the map becomes. For example:
A map with 60% Delirium will have tougher enemies but better rewards.
When to Use Them:
Save anointed maps for runs with no other league mechanics or when heading to bosses or towers.
Rewards:
Higher-tier maps can give 4–5 Simulacrum splinters per run.
Occasionally, you’ll fight Simulacrum bosses that drop extra splinters.
With this guide, you can make the most out of your Distilled Emotions to power up your amulet and maps. Good luck!
