Mycopunk Tips and Tricks Guide
Written by Jason B.
Mycopunk gets chaotic fast, especially when you’re just starting. If you're not moving, dodging, or using your abilities, you're probably already dead. This guide covers key survival tips based on how the game actually works, not guesswork.
Turn Off UI Distortion and Bloom
Head into the Graphics settings and lower UI Distortion and UI Bloom. It makes menus easier to read and helps reduce motion sickness. While you’re at it, turn off Screen Shake if it bothers you.
This doesn’t affect gameplay, but it makes the game easier to look at and keeps your focus on the fight.
Stay Moving or Get Swarmed
Enemies don’t stop chasing. You shouldn’t stop moving either. Sprint, slide, wingsuit, dash... whatever your class gives you, use it.
You can shoot while sprinting, so there’s no reason to stand still. Dodging is just survival here, not style.
Use Your Abilities Constantly
Every class has abilities with low cooldowns. They’re made to be used often, not saved. If you're waiting for a "perfect time" to use a skill, that time is now.
Glider’s Rocket Salvo, Bruiser’s shield slam, Scrapper’s jetpack—they’re all designed to be spammed.
Save Health Drops for When You Need Them
Green orbs don’t heal much and don’t scale. Don’t grab them the second they drop.
Leave them on the ground during fights. You’ll take damage eventually. Picking them up early just wastes healing.
Check Planets for Resource Drops
Hover over a mission region before launching. It tells you what rare resources you’ll find.
If you need Beezia, Gussula, or Saxonite, this is the only way to know where to look. Don’t just run random missions hoping they drop.
Use the Environment to Your Advantage
Climb structures to escape, bait enemies into choke points, and look for explosive plants.
Most maps give you enough space to kite enemies or break line of sight. If you're playing solo, this is your main defense.
Don’t Get Distracted by Extra Enemies
If the objective is done, call the pod. You don’t get bonus rewards for clearing the map unless the mission says so.
The longer you stay, the more enemies spawn. This is a losing game in solo or low-health situations.
Watch the Invisible Difficulty Timer
Mycopunk has an internal timer that increases enemy difficulty over time. There’s no bar or clock on screen, but it’s always ticking.
You can open the pause menu to check mission time. If it’s dragging on, expect bigger and stronger enemy waves.
Explore, But Don’t Get Greedy
Side paths can lead to extra loot like Gussula stalks or containers. But every second you spend off-path makes the mission harder.
Quick exploration is fine. Wandering too long gets you overrun.
Final Blurb
Mycopunk looks like a fun shooter, but underneath the wingsuits and explosions, it’s a game that punishes wasted time and missed cooldowns. Use your tools, move fast, and get out when the job’s done.
That’s the difference between extraction and fungal paste.
