R.E.P.O. Beginner’s Guide

R.E.P.O. is a chaotic co-op horror heist game where you and up to five other players go on missions to steal back unpaid goods... for the “Tax Man.” The lore is vague, the emojis are aggressive, and the buildings you rob are full of monsters. Welcome to your new job.
Here’s how to not immediately die or bankrupt your space repo team.
Your Very First Day
You spawn inside a janky van. This is your home now.
A small monitor tells you what level you're on. A big monitor shows cryptic messages from the Tax Man, who only speaks in emoji.
Health and stamina bars are in the top-left. Stamina only drains when you sprint, and it regenerates on its own.
Walk outside the van and you’ll find your cart and the extraction point. This is where you dump stolen goods.
Loot Like a Professional Burglar

Your job is to find loot and hit your quota, shown in the top-right.
Use the cart to carry small or medium items. Value shows up on the back of the cart.
Loot is hiding everywhere—under beds, in lockers, behind furniture. Think like a raccoon.
Drop something or hit it against a wall? It loses value or breaks. Good job.
Big items need two people. Push with your body if you're solo.
Use the scroll wheel to move small loot closer or further. Hold right-click to rotate big stuff.
Pro Tip: Overfilling the extraction point gives bonus cash. Stack it up like you're playing reverse Tetris.
Enemies Exist. Unfortunately.

Every level has different enemies. Some chase. Some grab. Some steal your loot. Rude.
Crouch to hide easier. You can also crawl under tables and chairs.
Kill options: grenades, mines, or just hitting them with random junk.
Press Q to shrink into an object. Teammates can carry you. You can even launch yourself like a discount cannonball to escape or attack.
Died? No worries. Teammates can carry your head to the extraction point to bring you back. It’s fine. You’re fine.
The Service Station (aka the Gift Shop for Violent Capitalists)

Between levels, you hit the Service Station.
You can buy:
Health packs
Skill upgrades (like more stamina, speed, or double jump)
Weapons (stuns, grenades, etc.)
Prices go up every level. If you see something good, grab it now.
Buy stuff by placing it on the pad and slapping the red button.
Everything you buy will show up inside the van next level.
Equip tools by holding them and pressing 1, 2, or 3.
Higher Levels = Bigger Nightmares

More loot, more enemies, more extraction points.
You can’t reuse extraction points—once one is done, it explodes. Find the next one.
Press Tab to open the mini-map. It shows what rooms you’ve cleared, where loot is, and where the next extraction point is hiding.
After the final extraction, the mini-map also gives you the shortest path back to the van. Use it unless you enjoy getting lost and screaming.
Final Blurb
R.E.P.O. throws you into space with a tax bill, a cart, and a questionable moral compass. If you like chaotic co-op games where you can throw a couch at a monster and then accidentally launch yourself across a room—this might be your thing.
Just don’t drop the loot. Or die. Or trust your teammates too much.
