Blade Guide & Abilities | Marvel Rivals Season 3

Written by Alec Blackwood

Blade joins Marvel Rivals in Season 3 as a Duelist with lifesteal, anti-heal, and powerful melee attacks. He’s built for aggressive, close-range play and can quickly take down enemies who get out of position.

Here’s how his kit works and how to use him well.

Blade Abilities

Blade Chopper (LMB – Sword Mode)

  • Slashes forward with Dracula’s Sword

  • Strong melee damage for 1v1 fights

Use it when up close to start stacking damage or finish low-health enemies.

Hunting Gun (LMB – Gun Mode)

  • Fires an explosive round that bursts on impact

  • Mid-range damage with splash effect

Use this to poke enemies and pressure healers before diving in.

Step and Chop (Shift)

  • Dashes forward and hits the enemy

  • With gun: applies anti-heal

  • With sword: applies slow

Great for chasing runners or reducing healer uptime in team fights.

Blood Liberation (E)

  • Enters vampiric form

  • Can’t be healed, but lifesteals on hit

  • Likely increases attack speed and awareness

Best used when diving or cleaning up kills. Don’t activate it early or waste it in low-pressure moments.

Defensive Stance (RMB)

  • Enters sword stance to block frontal damage

Good for dueling or when pushing forward under pressure.

Ultimate (Q)

  • Charges forward in a straight line

  • Deals high AoE damage with sword strikes behind him

You can use this to open a fight or to escape while still dealing damage. Versatile but risky.

Team-Up Ability

Blade has a confirmed Team-Up ability with Cloak & Dagger. We will update this part with more details soon!

How to Play Blade

Blade is an all-in Duelist who wants to harass with his Hunting Gun, dash in with Step and Chop, and clean up with sword combos. He’s one of the few characters with anti-heal, making him strong against healer comps.

Use Blood Liberation when going for kills or stalling 1vX fights. Don’t rely on your team to keep you alive once it’s active; your only healing is through lifesteal.

Position yourself wide and flank whenever possible. Avoid direct teamfight fronts unless your Ultimate is ready.

Final Blurb

Blade is built for aggressive players who like hunting down low-health targets and breaking heal-heavy teams. He rewards good timing and punishes hesitation.

Learn when to engage and when to back off, or you’ll find yourself lifestealing in the middle of a 1v5.

TL;DR

  • Blade is a melee Duelist with lifesteal and anti-heal

  • Switch between sword and gun for different effects

  • Blood Liberation gives lifesteal but disables healing

  • Step and Chop applies slow or anti-heal based on weapon

  • Ultimate deals AoE damage while dashing

  • Strong against healer comps and isolated enemies

  • Team-Up ability with Cloak & Dagger (more details TBD)
