Marvel Rivals Season 3 Buffs, Nerfs, and Balance Changes

Marvel Rivals Season 3 Buffs and Nerfs

Written by Alec Blackwood

Marvel Rivals Season 3 is bringing a full set of buffs and nerfs on July 11, changing a few different characters. Some of the strongest heroes are finally getting toned down, while a few underused picks are getting much-needed help.

Here’s a full breakdown of every confirmed change so far.

Buffed Heroes in Season 3

Venom

Venom is getting a straight buff, helping his damage keep up with faster duelists.

The Thing

The Thing now has a new ability called Battle Blitz. It lets him leap at an enemy and punch them mid-air with Stone Haymaker. If timed right, it can knock flying heroes out of the sky.

NetEase also confirmed more anti-air tools like this are planned for other Vanguards in future patches.

Namor

His primary attack is getting buffed to improve his pressure and damage.

Scarlet Witch

Her Ultimate is being improved. No exact numbers yet, but it’s meant to make it more threatening in teamfights.

Mantis

Her healing and Ultimate are getting a full buff pass, making her more reliable in longer fights.

Invisible Woman

She’s getting a small healing efficiency increase to support her team more often.

Nerfed Heroes in Season 3

Iron Man

He’s getting nerfed so he can’t snipe the backline as easily or as often.

The Punisher

Both his Culling Turret and his fast-charging Ultimate are being nerfed to slow his power curve.

Mister Fantastic

He’ll be easier to kill while in his inflated state, making him less of a problem during objective fights.

Loki

His Ultimate now charges slower, limiting how often he can disrupt fights.

Ultron

Ultron has been dominating from the sky, so his overall survivability is being reduced.

Emma Frost

Emma is getting another nerf after her Season 2.5 changes. She’s still strong, especially as a solo healer.

Final Blurb

Season 3 is clearly focused on breaking up the current meta. Shield-heavy comps and aerial dominance are both getting direct counters. Some of the more frustrating Ultimates are being toned down, while support heroes are finally getting buffed to stay competitive.

The new tools for Vanguards are a solid step in balancing air vs ground fights.

TL;DR

  • Venom, Namor, and Scarlet Witch are getting damage buffs

  • The Thing gains a new anti-air leap called Battle Blitz

  • Mantis and Invisible Woman healing buffs are confirmed

  • Iron Man, Ultron, Loki, and Punisher are getting nerfed

  • Mister Fantastic is now easier to kill in inflated form

  • Emma Frost gets hit with another healing nerf

  • More Vanguard anti-air tools are planned for future updates
