How to Cook in Caves of Qud
Cooking in Caves of Qud is a great way to create meals that heal you and give useful buffs. Here’s how to cook:
Step 1: Find or Make a Campfire
Look for an existing campfire, usually found in settlements or camps.
Campfires are marked with a flame icon on the map.
If you can’t find one, create your own:
Press Ctrl + Space to open the interaction menu.
Choose Make Campfire if you have wood or a similar flammable material in your inventory.
Step 2: Open the Cooking Menu
Stand near a campfire.
Press Ctrl + Space to bring up the interaction menu.
Select Cook with Ingredients to open the cooking options.
Step 3: Choose What to Cook
The game will show a list of available ingredients in your inventory.
Combine different ingredients to create a meal.
Each ingredient can give special effects, like health regeneration or stat boosts.
If you’re unsure what to cook, choose Cook from a Recipe to use a pre-made recipe you’ve learned.
Step 4: Eat the Meal
Once you’ve cooked the meal, it will be consumed automatically.
The effects of the meal, like healing or buffs, will apply immediately and last for a set duration.
