You can unlock new characters in Marvel Mystic Mayhem mainly by summoning them through banners using Dreamgems and Shadow Keys. Some characters are given for free during events or story progression, but most must be pulled through the gacha system.
Here’s how it works and what you need to know.
Summoning Banners
There are two main banners:
Forge the Future – Focuses on Iron Man, with increased chances for Falcon and Sentry
Legends Assemble – Includes most other heroes without boosted rates
You use Dreamgems for Forge the Future and Shadow Keys for Legends Assemble.
At Team Level 8, you’ll usually have 15 Shadow Keys and around 850 Dreamgems. Pushing to Level 10 gives slightly more of both.
Each summon costs 150 Dreamgems or 1 Shadow Key.
Free Characters
Several characters unlock naturally as you play:
Hulk – Free early Defender
Lady Bullseye – Strong free Striker
Sleepwalker – Free Controller
Armor – Unlocks through story and becomes one of the best tanks
You also get Storm through the 7-Day Login event and Moon Girl from current login rewards.
Guaranteed Unlocks
After 40 pulls on the Legends Assemble banner, you receive one random 3-star character from this list:
Thor
Doctor Strange
Emma Frost
Juggernaut
These are guaranteed and don’t require luck after the 40th summon.
Earning Summon Resources
You can get Dreamgems and Shadow Keys from:
Daily and weekly missions
Story mode rewards and Memento missions
Events like Mystic Clash and Time Reversal
Leveling characters to specific milestones
Redeeming codes and gifts from the in-game mail
Leveling unused characters temporarily is a great way to earn extra Dreamgems, since you can reset them after.
Soul Saga Unlocks
Getting duplicate characters helps unlock Soul Saga nodes, which increase a character’s power.
These don’t unlock new characters but boost the ones you already have.
