The Alters: How to Fast Travel

The Alters: How to Fast Travel

Written by Alec Blackwood

Fast travel in The Alters unlocks early in the story and lets you move instantly between your base, mining outposts, and travel pylons. It does not use energy or resources and can be used as often as you want.

You’ll first unlock it during the Organics Matter task when you build your first Mining Outpost.

How to Use Fast Travel

Mining Outpost Travel Points

After setting up a Mining Outpost, look for the panel near it. This is where you access the fast travel map.

You can also fast travel from panels at your base, including the one inside the airlock.

Pick your destination and confirm. Travel is instant, and no items are used.

Travel Pylons

Later in the game, you can craft Travel Pylons at the Workshop.

These work like outposts but can be placed in any location you choose.

Each pylon must connect back to the base with green power lines. If it isn’t linked, it won’t activate as a fast travel point.

You can place extra pylons along the way to bridge long gaps and complete the connection.

Final Blurb

If you’re wondering how to fast travel in The Alters, it all comes down to using Mining Outposts or placing Travel Pylons with a full connection to your base.

It’s free, fast, and saves you time every day.
