Growing and selling canola in Farming Simulator 25 can be quite profitable if done right. Here’s a step-by-step guide to on selling canola and getting the most out of your canola fields:

Step 1: Preparing Your Field

  • Adjust Game Settings (Optional)
Go to Options > Game Settings to adjust things like Crop Destruction, Periodic Plowing, Stones, Lime, and Weeds. Turning these off simplifies the process but may reduce your yield.

  • Lime Your Field
Lime improves the crop yield. You’ll need a Bredal K150 fertilizer spreader (or similar model that can spread lime) and lime pallets from the Shop. Attach the spreader to your tractor, load it with lime, and drive over the field. Turn on Soil Composition > Needs Lime in the map to see which areas need attention.

  • Plow or Cultivate
Attach a plow or cultivator to your tractor, lower it to the ground, and drive over the field to prepare it. This will turn over the soil, eliminating remnants of previous crops and making it ready for seeding.

Step 2: Planting Canola

  • Select and Load Your Seeder
In the Shop, select a seeder compatible with canola like the Great Plains Solid Stand 1500. Purchase canola seeds, load them into your seeder, and attach it to your tractor.

  • Choose Canola as the Crop
Cycle through the available crop options on your seeder to select canola.

  • Sow the Field
Drive over your prepared field with the seeder to plant canola. As you go, you’ll see the seeds being planted and the field will appear darker where it has been sown.

Step 3: Crop Maintenance

  • Weeding (Optional)
If weeds are enabled then you may want to buy a weeder or sprayer from the Shop to prevent weeds from reducing your canola yield. Load it with weed killer and pass over the field as necessary.

  • Fertilizing (Optional)
Fertilizing increases yield. Choose a fertilizer spreader, load it with fertilizer from the Shop, and pass over the field. This can be done once or twice during the growth stages for the best yield.

Step 4: Harvesting Canola

  • Prepare Your Harvester
Once the canola is fully grown use a harvester equipped with a compatible header for canola. Attach the header and unfold the harvester.

  • Harvest the Canola
Drive over the field to collect the canola crop. As you move, harvested canola will fill the tank in your harvester.

Step 5: Selling Your Canola

  • Load Canola into a Trailer
Park your trailer next to the harvester’s pipe and unload the canola from the harvester’s tank into the trailer.

  • Transport to a Selling Point
You can choose to sell the canola immediately or store it in a silo to wait for a better price. If you want to sell immediately, look for sell points (like a Farmer’s Kiosk) or other designated stations on the map. If you want to store it, unload it at a silo, and then monitor prices for the best selling time which might be at another time of the year (see next point).

  • Monitor Prices for Better Profit
Use the Analytics in the menu to see market trends. You may find higher prices for canola in certain months (typically December). Selling during peak times is ideal unless you need the cash now.

Hope that helps!
