What to Bring Before the Fight
Markiona and her puppet have different weaknesses, so one weapon won’t cut it.
Use electricity against the puppet
Use acid against Markiona
Swap weapons mid-fight or bring Abrasives for both types
Good weapon choices include:
Electric Coil Stick with a long handle
Acidic Crystal Spear
Pandemonium Legion Arm if you need ranged help
Helpful amulets:
Puppet Destroyer's Amulet
Recharging Amulet
Conquering Amulet
Carcass Butcher's Amulet (for the puppet)
Bring items too. Shot Puts, Thermite, and Saw Blades all deal fast stagger and let you stay safe.
Phase One: Dealing With the Puppet
The fight always starts the same. The puppet rushes you right away.
Step forward, stop moving, and parry the red-charged Rush attack
From there, your job is to:
Focus damage on the puppet
Punish Markiona only when she stands still or casts from range
Watch for Switch attacks where they trade places instantly
The puppet has fast combos, weird timings, and tail sweeps. Most can be parried or dodged once you learn the rhythm.
When the puppet drops, Markiona staggers and starts healing it.
Use that time to unload with Fable Arts, fire, or anything else you’ve been saving
Try to push her into Phase Two before the puppet fully recovers
Phase Two: Everything Gets Worse
Markiona glows gold and the puppet returns angrier than ever.
She opens with Golden Assault, a three-part charge from the puppet with explosions
Dodge twice per hit and sidestep the last explosion
Attack her during the long cooldown right after
This phase mixes her orb magic with more puppet attacks.
Orb combos now include extra sweeps
Orb spins are sometimes followed by puppet jump slams
Her Golden Defense attack should be avoided completely... use the time to heal or apply buffs
She has another dangerous move called Golden Charge. This ends with a Fury Attack that you can parry to stagger her.
If you get the parry, go in for Critical Damage and combo follow-ups
The puppet can also fake a slow wind-up into a delayed slam. Watch for it, wait three seconds, then parry or dodge hard.
Use your throwables to chip away safely when she starts spamming wide-area moves.
What You Get for Winning
When you beat Markiona, you get:
Markiona’s Key to continue through the DLC
Macabre Puppeteer's Ergo, which can be traded for:
Death Talons (a fast claw weapon with high Dexterity scaling)
Morbid Ambitions Amulet (increases normal attack damage but costs more stamina)
Note: If Alidoro is gone from Hotel Krat, you’ll need to reach his new spot deeper in the DLC. Do not attack him before trading the Ergo.
Final Blurb
This fight is long, messy, and full of tricks. Learning the puppet’s attack chains is key, but the real pain starts once Markiona hits Phase Two.
Stay patient, play smart, and punish only when it’s safe. Burn through throwables if you need to... she deserves it.
