Where to Find the Premetamorphic Green Hunter
You’ll face this boss after a few major encounters in the Overture DLC.
He ambushes you inside a large open area that seems quiet... until he skitters in and immediately tries to tear your face off.
Best Setup Before the Fight
Use Fire Canisters and Throwables
Bring fire-based throwables, especially if you have ones with stagger power.
Drop Fire Canisters before the fight starts. You can set them where he spawns, and he’ll cook himself standing up.
The Salamander Blade works great for extra burn damage over time.
Use the Aegis Legion Arm
Aegis is perfect for blocking both of his grab attacks.
One grab is a close-range slam, the other is a leaping grab. Both heal him if they land, so don’t let them.
Phase Breakdown and Tips
Phase 1: Open with Throws, Don’t Rush
Use high stagger throwables right away.
Watch for the white stagger ring to appear around his health bar. That’s your chance to start pressuring.
If he starts spitting acid, back off immediately. That area denial can mess up your rhythm.
Phase 2: Burrowing, Grabbing, and More Cheap Moves
When he burrows, run diagonally. He’ll pop up where you were standing.
If he grabs you, he heals, so keep your Aegis shield ready and time your dodges carefully.
After his jump grab misses, that’s your safest window to punish. Melee works best here.
When to Go In
After his spin chain or acid breath ends.
If you block or dodge his grabs, punish with one or two quick hits.
If you're down to low health, play it safe and let throwables finish him.
Bonus Tip
Save your second wave of throwables for the final 25 percent. He gets aggressive, but a few well-placed items will finish the job cleanly.
