Lies of P Two-Faced Overseer Boss Fight Guide (Overture DLC)
Written by Andrew Hammel
The Two-Faced Overseer doesn’t have the speed of Veronique or the chaos of Markiona, but what he lacks in flair, he makes up for with raw damage and a huge health pool. If you’re not careful, he’ll flatten you with brute force.
This guide breaks down how to take him out, step by step, along with a video guide down below if you want a visual.

Best Gear and Grindstone to Use
Your MVP here is the grindstone from the base game. It makes perfect guards easier to land and lets you safely parry most of his heavy swings.
Use it only after his red glow phase starts
Save your other consumables during the early part of the fight
He doesn’t have a grab that bypasses block, so if you can guard well, you’re in good shape
Weapon-wise, the Free DLC Glaive is a great choice. Its charge heavies hit hard and help build stagger. Combine that with a Fable Art, and you’ll deal big chunks of damage between parries.
Phase One Strategy: Learn the Rhythm
In the first phase:
Don’t use grindstones yet
Focus on learning his attack timings
Guard and recover with high Regain if you take chip damage
Stick to light pokes and wait for real windows
When he starts glowing red, it signals the start of his second phase... and time to get serious.
Phase Two Strategy: Parry and Punish
As soon as he transitions:
Activate your Perfection Grindstone
Start perfect parrying every swing
After each parry string, retaliate with a charged heavy to build stagger
He becomes more aggressive, but his pattern is consistent.
He has only one Fury Attack, and it’s very easy to see coming
Everything else can be blocked or dodged cleanly
Don’t let him corner you... if he traps you against a wall, you’re toast
When you stagger him:
Unload your strongest attacks
He won’t counter while recovering
As he starts to stand, reapply your grindstone or sharpen if needed
If your weapon starts to dull, do not wait. Sharpen it right after a stagger or when he falters from heavy hits.
Winning Tips
Parry chains build up stagger faster than dodging
Only use grindstones during red phase transitions
Stay mobile, especially near walls
Use Fable Arts after parries or during his post-stagger window
What You Get
Defeating Two-Faced Overseer clears a major mid-point in the DLC and opens the path to later story zones. No unique weapon drops, but it’s one of the most important mechanical skill checks in Overture.

Final Blurb
Two-Faced Overseer is a damage sponge with no tricks, just pain. Once you lock in his attack pattern and start chaining perfect guards, the fight becomes a matter of discipline.
Keep your weapon sharp, your blocks tight, and wait for the red phase to bring the hammer down.
FAQ
Q: Is the Two-Faced Overseer required to progress in the DLC?
Yes, he is part of the main path and must be defeated to move forward.
Q: Does he have a grab attack?
Technically yes, but it only triggers from a specific hit string and can be blocked or dodged easily.
Q: What weapon works best for him?
The free Glaive from the DLC is highly effective, especially with charge heavies and Fable Arts.
Q: When should I use the Perfection Grindstone?
Use it when he enters his red phase. Save it until then for maximum value.
Q: Can his attacks be parried?
Yes, nearly all of them. His patterns are consistent, making perfect guards very reliable once you learn the timing.
