Lies of P Overture DLC Best Weapons Tier List
Written by Andrew Hammel
The Overture DLC doesn’t just toss in a few gimmick weapons, but rather gives you a bunch of new weapon blades to play with, including special weapons, reworked boss drops, and some that straight-up let you burn, blast, or slash enemies like you’re starring in your own horror movie.
Here's a tier list/table with the best weapons in Lies of P: Overture, and more information on each weapon below it.
Tier | Weapon | Notes |
---|---|---|
S | Royal Horn Bow | First bow in the game, unlimited ammo, dodge shot and charge shot Fable Arts |
S | Death’s Talons | Fast claw strikes, perfect for status and aggressive builds |
S | Monad’s Rose Sword | Special weapon with unique scaling, Fable Arts, and fast precision strikes |
A | Lantern | Quick thrusts and flamethrower-style dash attack, great for dodging and punishing |
A | Pale Knight | Gunblade hybrid with shotgun burst and gap-closing follow-up |
A | La Vendetta | Fast, Technique-friendly weapon with stylish moveset and clean scaling |
B | Flame Lance | Jousting-style spear that spews fire using stamina, powerful but costly |
B | Maniac’s Pinwheel | Massive spinning weapon, good with Motivity, strong multi-hit Fable Art |
B | Lorenzini Bolt | Electric-focused redesign of the base game weapon, benefits from shock builds |
B | Arche’s Guardian | Heavy, defensive weapon with solid stagger potential and slow swings |
C | Silent Evangelists’ Mace | Acid-spraying blunt weapon with high base damage but sluggish movement |
C | Welder (Puppet of the Future) | Brutal-looking boss weapon, slow but hits hard, good for tanky builds |
C | Royal Blade | Visually flashy but plain in function, solid early weapon but quickly outpaced |
C | The Bludgeon | Basic two-hander, slow and lacks synergy compared to other options |
S-Tier
Royal Horn Bow
It’s the game’s first actual bow... and it’s good. No ammo, high damage when charged, and you can dodge-shoot with ease. Strong in any build that uses Technique, and absolutely worth using even in NG+ runs.
Death’s Talons
These claws are fast, brutal, and perfect for players who like staying close and swinging non-stop. Rampage boosts your damage, and they hit fast enough to melt stagger bars. Not just a new weapon type—easily one of the best in the game.
Monad’s Rose Sword
A unique blade with a clean moveset, strong Fable Arts, and solid scaling. It’s a special weapon, not swappable, and it feels refined and responsive. Great for mid-to-late DLC combat and stylish builds.
A-Tier
Lantern Blade
The flamethrower-style attack is fun and flexible. You can stab or dash-burn enemies, which gives it solid boss utility. The speed and distance make it better than its odd appearance suggests.
Pale Knight Blade
A gunblade-style sword with shotgun blasts and charge attacks. The base swing is already good, but the added firepower makes it even better. It just takes some timing to use well.
La Vendetta Blade
A clean, balanced blade that feels fast and sharp. Strong in Technique builds, and the design favors quick combos with a bit of flair. Not as flashy as others, but it handles great.
B-Tier
Flame Lance Blade
A spear-like blade that can spew fire using stamina. It’s good for AoE and stagger setups, but it guzzles stamina fast. You’ll like it more if you build around elemental damage.
Maniac’s Pinwheel Blade
Massive spinning damage that’s fun but tricky to control. One Fable Art gives it a multi-hit rush, which helps it feel faster than it looks. Great with Motivity, but clunky for everyone else.
Lorenzini Bolt Blade
A modernized take on the original Lorenzini. Has electric flare and good scaling, but its speed feels a bit underwhelming. Strong when paired with the right Fable Art or shock buffs.
Arche’s Guardian Blade
Heavy blade with a defensive kinda feel. It's a solid choice for turtle-style builds or slow bruisers. Not top-tier, but stable and reliable for safe play.
C-Tier
Silent Evangelists’ Mace Blade
Blunt and acidic. It hits hard and has some utility with spray-style Fable Arts, but it’s pretty slow. Feels like a pipe wrench with a twist. Great for fans of the base game’s heavier setups.
Welder Blade (Puppet of the Future)
Looks heavy and has strong animations, but its startup lag and recovery hold it back. Feels situational unless you spec fully into Motivity and tank gear.
Royal Blade
Cool chain-linked aesthetic, but it's just... fine. The moveset is plain, and there are better options now. Still usable, but doesn’t stand out anymore.
The Bludgeon Blade
Very slow, very basic, and kind of dull next to everything else. Strong hits, but no special payoff or synergy. Good for smashing, bad for pretty much anything else.
Final Blurb
With Overture, Lies of P finally gives you real build diversity. There's something new to master whether you want claws, a bow, or a flaming tree branch.
Some blades are flashier than others, and a few are already fan favorites, but every weapon on this list opens up fresh playstyles you couldn’t try before.
FAQ
Q: Are any of these blades special weapons that can’t be modified?
Yes, the Royal Horn Bow, Death’s Talons, and Monad’s Rose are full weapons and cannot be disassembled into blade and handle.
Q: Which stat is best for most of these new blades?
Technique is best for Royal Horn Bow, Death’s Talons, La Vendetta, and Monad’s Rose. Motivity works better for the mace, lance, pinwheel, and Welder.
Q: Where can I find these new blades?
Most are found in the Overture DLC through exploration, mini-boss drops, or hidden chests. Some are tied to specific enemy encounters or puzzles.
Q: Is the Royal Blade still worth using?
It’s not bad, just bland compared to the new stuff. It’s fine early on, but outclassed quickly.
