Riddles in Ruins is a main quest in Mirthwood that follows The Shadow of Expectation. In this quest, you will gather relic pieces scattered across the land and meet the Mysterious Stranger in Ashmire. Below is a simple guide and walkthrough.

Quest Objectives:

Collect four relic pieces.
Meet the Mysterious Stranger in Ashmire.
Follow the Stranger to the Forest Shrine.
Place the device at the Shrine.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough:

1. Collect Four Relic Pieces

The Mysterious Stranger marks the locations of the relics on your map. Two are in Bleakwood, and one is in the Glasstip Foothills.

Relic 2 (Bleakwood):
- Head south from Brightoak into Bleakwood.
- Find a stone gazebo east of Ashmire.
- The relic is on the ground inside the gazebo.
Relic 3 (Bleakwood):
- From the second relic, go west to another set of stone ruins.
- The relic is on the ground near a tree stump on the northwest side of the ruins.
Relic 4 (Glasstip Foothills):
- Travel northwest to the Glasstip Foothills, near the farmhouse.
- Locate the Hermit’s Hut and a nearby cave to the north.
- Enter the cave; the relic is inside. Be cautious of potential bear encounters.

Note: The first relic was obtained during "The Shadow of Expectation" quest.

2. Meet the Mysterious Stranger in Ashmire

After collecting all four relics, go to Ashmire.
The Stranger waits on the northwest outskirts of town.

3. Follow the Stranger to the Forest Shrine

Stay close to the Stranger as they lead you north to the Forest Shrine.
If you fall behind, they will stop until you catch up.

4. Place the Device at the Shrine

At the Shrine, the Stranger assembles the relic pieces into a device.
Place the device into the slot on the Shrine as instructed.
This action raises a statue in the center of the Shrine.

Completion

After placing the device, the Stranger assigns a new task: activate all Shrines in the Free Lands and enter the portals they open to collect Binding Stones. This concludes the "Riddles in Ruins" quest and begins the "Of Pearls and Portals" quest.

- Equip weapons and healing items before exploring caves and ruins.
- Be prepared for potential enemy encounters, such as bears in caves.
Exploration:
- Use the map to locate marked relic sites.
- Explore surrounding areas for additional resources and loot.

- Stay close to the Stranger during the journey to the Forest Shrine to avoid delays.
