Mirthwood Quest Guide: The Elf and the Sea

The Elf and the Sea becomes available after completing A Voice From the North and Unmasked, and after locating Greyshore on the map. In this quest, you’ll meet Elara at the Greyshore Lighthouse and assist her in relighting it. Here is our walkthrough:

Quest Objectives:

Receive a letter from Elara.
Meet Elara at the Greyshore Lighthouse.
Repair the boat to reach the lighthouse.
Find the lighthouse key.
Relight the lighthouse.
Speak with Elara.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough:

1. Receive a Letter from Elara

After completing A Voice From the North and Unmasked, check your mailbox once you’ve located Greyshore on the map.
You’ll find a letter from Elara, requesting a meeting at the Greyshore Lighthouse.

2. Meet Elara at the Greyshore Lighthouse

Finding Greyshore:
- Travel to Greyshore, located in the Stormreach Coast region on the northeast side of the map.
Finding the Lighthouse:
- The Greyshore Lighthouse is on an island separate from the mainland. To reach it, you must repair a boat north of Greyshore.

3. Repair the Boat to Reach the Lighthouse

Clearing the Area:
- Head north of Greyshore to the area under the bridge near where you previously fought the Shoreside Menace.
- Defeat the Stiltlurkers (three or four) surrounding the area to gain access to the boat.
Repairing the Boat:
- Find the broken boat on the eastern shore near a signpost.
- Use 100 Wood to repair it.
- After repairing, press E to sail across to the lighthouse island.

4. Find the Lighthouse Key

Locating the Key:
- Upon arrival, the lighthouse door will be locked. Head east to find a cave entrance.
- Inside the cave, talk to the Old Man at his campsite. He will mention dropping the key in the cave.
- Continue around the corner to find the Lighthouse Key against a cave wall. Be prepared to fight rats to retrieve it.

5. Relight the Lighthouse

Entering the Lighthouse:
- Use the key to unlock the lighthouse door and climb the ladder to the top.
Lighting the Brazier:
- Interact with the brazier at the top to relight the lighthouse.

6. Speak with Elara

After lighting the brazier, find Elara at the top of the lighthouse.
Speak with her to complete the quest.
Reward: Open the chest beside her to receive new armor, 100 Gold, and some potions.

Tips:

Preparation:
- Be sure you have 100 Wood before attempting to repair the boat.
- Equip weapons and healing items to handle Stiltlurkers and rats.
Exploration:
- Explore the island for additional resources and loot.
